Harrison's Surgery

This April Harrison had to go in and have his tonsils and adenoids removed. We started the day off at 6 am. The nurse told me he could eat four hours prior to his surgery. He was scheduled for 10:30 that morning. We received a call at 8 am asking us if we could come in earlier. So we went in and waited and waited.

&<span class=

We decided to take a family pic in the waiting room. When they finally took us back at 12:30! Two hours late. We thought that things would finally get going. Harrison got changed into his surgery pajama's and figured out how the bed worked.

&<span class=

And we waited some more! Harrison got in some cuddle time with Mom, played with the bed some more, and watched some T.V. to pass the time. He was such a trooper considering he had not eaten or had anything to drink since 6 am.

Finally they came in to get us around 1:30. Mark went back with him. I was just way to emotional to go.

&<span class=

The surgery went great, but the recovery was really hard.

&<span class=

We spent a few hours in recovery, and then we were off to go home. It was a long day, and a longer 2 week recovery! In the end the surgery did it's job. He is sleeping so much better! He looks and feels so much better! We feel very thankful to have a happy, healthy, energetic guy around the house now.

Kinder Mass at Highland Catholic

This past May, the Kindergartners put on a mass for the parents at school. Isak had a reading during the mass, and did a great job, despite being very nervouse about reading in front of all those people!

Nana and Papa were able to come and see Isak in action. He was so proud of himself. So were we!

Get in Gear

This past April I did my first Half Marathon, 13.1 miles! Last fall I made the decision to try to do the Twin Cities Marathon this upcoming October 26.2 miles! I might have lost my mind a little?? The Get in Gear race was the beginning of the road to this goal. The day was miserably cold and rainy! Despite the conditions my walking partner Kristen and I finished in 2 hours and 46 minutes. Our goal was to finish under 3 hours and we did it!

Team Green as everyone called us along the course. We were so happy to have these brightly colored water proof jackets to keep us dry through the sidewise rain coming at us! They also helped us keep track of one another during the race. Kristen stopped off to use the bathroom and told me to go ahead. I was so far ahead of her by the time she got out, she had a hard time catching up with me. Thanks to the jackets we had each other in our sights. Kristen and I have been training together for the past 6 months and I have enjoyed every minute of it!

Easter 2011

One of my goals for this blog is to get caught up to present day. I wonder if it will ever happen, with all the busyness of this family. In the mean time I will fill you on past events.
Easter this year was very exciting for the boys as always. They were able to color a bunch of eggs for our annual Easter celebration with the Keefe family.

All the boys could hardly sit still for a picture before the big Eater egg hunt in the yard. We were thankful for our dog Ginny for keeping all the squirrels away this year. Last year by the time we got out to do the hunt, the squirrels had opened up all the eggs and eaten most of the candy!

The boys had a great time searching for eggs. I had a great time getting some snuggle time in with my god daughter Amelia. It was a nice day.

Erin's shower

Every one was so excited to welcome Baby Ameilia, so a few weeks after she was born Erin let me throw her a baby shower. Our running group friends all brought fantastic food and games. I think we succeeded in making Erin feel like a queen for the day.

Amelia Keefe is here!

Our good friends Erin and Vince Welcomed Amelia Kathleen into the world on March 10th almost three months ago!

I woke up to and early call from Erin. She said she thought she might be in labor, and would call me back after she spoke with the nurse. About 2o min later, I heard little knocks at our door. There were two Keefe boys coming to spend the duration of the delivery with us. We waited to hear something all day. Around 4pm I said to Mark I wonder what is going on? We pressed on got dinner for everyone, started to get them ready for bed, and then the phone rang. I raced to the phone and then I heard a baby crying. I could hardly wait to find out if Erin finally got her baby girl or not?

When she said it was a girl, I jummed up and down with happiness. Mark and I could hardly wait to go and meet her. We were able to the next evening. This little girl has been wanted for so long, and I am over joyed she is finally here! I have enjoyed getting to know her over the past few months and look forward to many fun times ahead.
